She has a keen interest in how shared recollections can affect how a story is told and remembered, and is looking forward to hearing more about the folklore and legends of the North East of Scotland. |

Dr Rachael Ironside
Dr Rachael Ironside has a PhD in Sociology. Her research explores the role of folklore and stories in our contemporary society with a particular interest in how these help us to understand culture, heritage and place. Rachael’s research also explore social interaction and extraordinary experiences. |

Dr Sarah Buckler
Dr Sarah (Sal) Buckler has a PhD in social anthropology. Her interest in stories and folklore stems from her research with Gypsy Travellers in North-East England where stories create a sense of ‘Gypsiness’ which allows their culture to stay strong and vibrant. She is now excited to extend that work to the North-East of Scotland. |

Professor Peter Reid
Professor Peter Reid has worked at Robert Gordon University for over twenty years. Much of his work is connected with local heritage and culture, particularly in the North-East of Scotland. He has recently led a storytelling project about the Norwegian and Danish refugees who came to the North-East during the Second World War. In 2015, he delivered his Professorial Lecture entirely in Doric. |

Nicci Thompson
Nicci lectures in film and media at Robert Gordon University. His main interests manoeuvre around story/narrative, writing and the audience. Nicci has a heavy background in filmmaking and after returning to the north-east from the U.S made “The Anatomist”, a film based around the stories of Aberdeen’s Dr. Andrew Moir. The film has gone on to be showcased a various film festivals around the world. |
