Kate's Wood
Kate’s Wood, in Northmuir, by Kirriemuir, is a well known wood, originally called Migvie Wood and is part of Kinnordy Estate.
It’s known locally as Kate’s Wood after legend tells of an unfortunate soul called Kate was burnt as a witch at some time during the witch trials, in 1597. To this day, no vegetation has grown over the spot where Kate was burned.
